About

About Every Body Camps

Every Body Camps is a small independent publication about outdoor gear that fits the person and the situation, not the catalogue average. We write for the people the gear guides skip: women and shorter or larger campers, parents outfitting kids, and anyone sleeping in or next to a vehicle. We read the specs, the manufacturer fit notes and a lot of user reports, and we say plainly what we did and did not try.

What we cover

We start with three topics, and each one is a question the big gear guides tend to skip:

  • Women's and Plus-Size Fit: Packs, bags, pads and boots for women and for short, tall or plus-size bodies: torso lengths, hip belts, sleeping bag girth and what actually fits.
  • Kids' Gear and Carriers: Camping and hiking gear for babies, toddlers and kids by age band, plus child carrier packs: what to bring, what to skip and how long each piece lasts before they outgrow it.
  • Car, Truck and SUV Camping: Sleeping in or beside a vehicle: SUV tents, truck bed tents and caps, car mattresses, and the "will it fit my model" questions nobody answers.

More topics (cold-weather and expedition gear, carry-on and under-seat travel packs) come later, once these three are solid.

How an article gets written

Every article starts from one specific search question. We read what already ranks for it, note what those pages get right and what they leave the reader to figure out elsewhere, and then write the page that closes the gap: the direct answer first, the "it depends" spelled out, and products only where someone is actually shopping.

Each article states its basis at the bottom. Most are based on manufacturer specifications, fit notes and aggregated user reports. If an article says something was tested, it was. If it does not say that, assume it was not.

What we will not do

  • Claim hands-on testing we did not do.
  • Give medical, legal or financial advice. We may name a condition; we will not recommend a treatment.
  • Hide that some links earn us a commission. See the affiliate disclosure.
  • Pad articles to rank. If the answer is short, the page is short.
